Quartzsite - here I come

Left Hollister January 7th and headed to Quartzite Az..This isn't my first time there..its about my 5th..

What is Quartzsite?
Quartzsite, in western Arizona, is just 20 miles east of the Colorado River on I-10. From Phoenix, the trip to Quartzite is about two hours. It is also easily accessible from Los Angeles.

The population year round is around 3400 people..the Average age is 66...

Nine major gem, mineral, and 15 general swap meet shows are very popular tourist attractions, attracting about 1.5 million people annually, mostly in January and February. Most of the people come to Quartzsite in Rv's. There are lots of Rv Parks. There are thousands of Rv's dry camping in the desert. Lots of Snowbirds come to Quartzsite because of the weather. No snow and very little rain.

Quartzite likes to be known as the "Rock Capital Of The World"
Here are some photographs of the rock show and various rocks you can buy from various venders.
