Tree Blossoms on the way to Hollister

I was moving my 5th wheel trailer to Picines,ca..While driving into the town of Hollister, Ca. I spotted these cherry tree blossoms... I pulled over and took a few photographs with my pocket camera.
It's always fun to stop and take photographs of various subjects you spot along the way.

Lunch at Jardin's Restaurant in San Juan Bautista

I like going to Jardin's restaurant in San Juan Bautista, Ca...They have a very nice patio and garden area.  Now the cactus are in bloom.. Here are a few photo's I took with my IPhone 3gs and then worked on them in Photoshop. The first one is the full flower..love the colors:

The second one is primarily all white, including the border:

I always like to try and get a back-lite view from behind the flower:

Then I walked down to the San Juan Mission. I took another photo of the Indian (workers) graveyard. ( With my Panasonic fx150 point and shoot camera)

Oak trees and mustard greens

As I was driving to Paicines,Ca I spotted the following oak tree with mustard greens... I pulled over and got my camera ..When I walked across the street I sunk into the mud up to my ankles..My new shoes were a mess and I had to come home bare footed...The landscape photograph really wasn't worth all the cleaning I had to do to my shoes and clothes...Oh well nothing ventured..nothing gained:

 On the way home I took a photo of two deer and one turkey hiding in the grass:

April moon photographs

On April 5th I was driving around and spotted this beautiful moon.. All I had was my Fuji f80 pocket camera..Took quite a few photographs but only liked this one (click to enlarge):

Decided to try and make it more painterly in photoshop :

I decided I wanted to add a new moon from my moon file to the above photograph and do my Topaz magic to it and this is the result (click to enlarge) :

Santana Row on Stevens Creek rd in San Jose, Ca

Went to Santa Row late yesterday afternoon..Lots of pretty flowers. The weather was perfect for photographs.( overcast sky ):

Poppy's are in Bloom again

Passed a group of poppy's the other day... Finally went to photograph them yesterday... Used my Olympus epl1 with a nikon 50mm1.8 lens.. I got down on the ground to get the lower perspective.
I like to take my poppy photographs in the middle of the day when the poppy's are backlite by the sun.

The first poppy photograph is a painterly effect using a filter in photoshop called Topaz Simplify.

 This is a strait poppy photograph with  a dark vignette to make the poppy standout from the soft background.

Then I switched to my telephoto lens on my Olympus EPL1 for the following two photographs. I again used Topaz Simplify to give them a painterly effect.

The cattle are back in my backyard

Today I looked out the window and noticed that the cattle are back on the hills surrounding our campground.. I grabbed my IPhone and took a walk to take a few photographs.. Here are 3 photographs:

The last photograph is my truck and trailer in paradise..
