Poppies again

On the way home from the bobcat shoot I took some photographs of poppies...I didn't like them so I made a photoshop multiple exposure out of them..here it is:

I wasn't particularly excited about that so I made a painterly image out of it:

Much better..now I thought how about adding some poppies on top of the painterly image, so I found some in my poppies file:

I added these poppies to my painterly multiple exposure ....(Click to see larger)
Now I am going to go out and visit some friends....

Searching for Bobcats this morning

Bright and early this morning, I was out looking for Bobcats...No such luck..While waiting for a bobcat, I took a photograph of the trees and grass in the early morning light.. It was a hand held High Dynamic Range photograph.. Here is the end result:

As I was looking at this photograph on my computer, I thought why not put a Bobcat in the photograph..In my files, I have at least 250 Bobcat photographs...So I found one I liked and had lots of fun using photoshop.....to shall we say "put him in the picture."  Here is my first attempt:
Somebody said the bobcat is a little larger than real life...What do you expect for a first attempt?

Vineyard with flowers

Last Saturday, on my way to Hollister, I passed a vineyard on the corner of Day Rd and Watsonville rd..I immediately stopped and got my two cameras out...What a site! Beautiful flowers growing between the grape vines...Since the Vineyard was closed, I had to take these photographs through a chain link fence..here are a few samples:

Egrets at Chesbro dam

My friend Lance came down to visit and talk about photography.. We agreed to go on a photo shoot together at 6:00pm....At that time of the night, Uvas rd is usually pretty photogenic...We turned and drove along the right side of Chesbro dam..Was I suprised to see a whole nest of Egrets...needless to say, we took a lot of photographs....I was excited and just kept taking photographs until it was dark....here are a few:

New Camera

I love my new camera...Olympus Epl1...It is a great  point and shoot camera with a large sensor..I bought an adapter for it that allows me to attach my Nikon lenses.  Here is a photo of a rose I took with my Nikon 50mm1.8 lens.. I used Topaz Software to give it a painterly effect..The soft background is created by the Nikon 50mm lens. (Click to enlarge)

Bobcat Cubs

Two weeks ago I was taking a walk and spotted a mother bobcat and her cubs..Since I almost always have a camera with me I captured a few photos...I went back 10 times and only got two opportunities to photograph them....Here are three of the best photographs...They are cute and their behavior is very similar to house cats..

Can't get enough poppies

This year May is basically the end of the poppies, with green background grass. Here are a couple of the last ones I photographed, with a soft painterly effect: (click to enlarge)
